Liverpool is a team that has been promising great things for a fairly long time. But every time the Pheonix flaps its wings a strong gust of wind from somewhere keeps bringing it to the ground. And same has been the case with the Jurgen Klopp regime.

When Klopp came to Liverpool back in 2015 everyone thought that this is the man that will bring back their glory days. Two years down the line and Liverpool are miles away from achieving anything great. While the German boss has managed to build a strong forward line but his weak defence happens to tilt the game in favour of his opposition every single time.

Even though most of the fans are behind the manager and his philosophy but a few whispers have started doing the rounds about Klopp and his abilities.

And speaking before the weekend’s game against Leicester, Klopp told the media why his team were leaking goals.

Klopp said, “It’s concentration but it’s a little bit of readiness. In different moments we concede goals with the first goal. We now use formation better but we need to fight for second balls,

“We come too close together in the first formation for the first ball, which means we don’t use the right formation for the second ball.

“That’s what we have to work on. Each manager in football has another hole to fill.”

Up until this point, we clearly understood what the manager was trying to emphasise on. But then came a statement that has been disconcerting us ever since.

Klopp added, “If you asked me if I wanted my team perfect defending set pieces but not able to play football, I’d choose the other one.”

And here is our question, Why can’t your team do both those things at the same time?

Jurgen Klopp’s statement sounded more like a manager’s words whose single aim of the season is to keep his team away from relegation. He said this as if he had no other choice.

While we are not one of those who are doubting the Liverpool boss but at the same time, we are urging him to come out strong and mend those flaws
