Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos is on the verge of moving out this summer and it looks like Kemar Roofe could be his replacement.

More than half a dozen clubs have been linked with Alfredo Morelos this summer and experts believe that it will be nearly impossible for Steven Gerrard to hold onto the frontman – more so if a top Premier League club come calling.

And this weekend, the Scottish Sun had exclusively claimed that Mark Allen wanted to bring in Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe as a long-term replacement.

The report claimed: “RANGERS look set to make a £5million swoop for Leeds striker Kemar Roofe if they cash in on Alfredo Morelos.

“SunSport can reveal Steven Gerrard has pinpointed the Elland Road hitman as his top target to replace El Buffalo.

“Ibrox director of football Mark Allen has been told to identify strikers who could fill Morelos’ boots.

“And Roofe, 26, has shot to the top of the list. He was top scorer for Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds side last season, with 14 Championship goals.”

Kemar Roofe joined Leeds from Oxford United back in 2016 and he has only one year left on his current deal at the club.

This past season, Kemar Roofe scored 14 goals in just 32 Championship games for Leeds and it had been claimed that the club were planning to cash in on him this summer instead of losing him for free next year.

The Rangers fans were optimistic about bringing int he 26-year-old but now Jim White has basically rubbished this rumour.

The Sky Sports presenter has written on Twitter that Rangers wanting to sign Kemar Roofe is just ‘agent talk’ and Leeds United have not been approached by the Gers to sign the centre-forward.

So right now Steven Gerrard is not keen on moving for the Leeds striker but some experts believe that if Alfredo Morelos comes close to leaving Ibrox then the Gers manager could very well contact Leeds in order to sign Kemar Roofe.
