Steven Gerrard wants Filip Helander at Aston Villa

Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos has been one of the prized assets for Steven Gerrard this season and former Liverpool and Celtic legend Sir Kenny Dalglish has indirectly told the Gers boss what to do with his striking superstar.

Alfredo Morelos was the shining star for Rangers last season – scoring 18 goals in just 43 games and the striker has picked up right where he left off last campaign.

Alfredo Morelos has already scored 12 goals in just 20 games despite the presence of Kyle Lafferty who is also bagging goals for fun this season.

This hot form has obviously come with its fair share of attention from other European clubs as a number of them were interested in signing Alfredo Morelos during the summer transfer window.

And now speaking about the 22-year-old, Sir Kenny Dalglish has said that Steven Gerrard should be happy that he has the luxury of selling off Morelos – possibly hinting at the fact that the Teddy Bears should cash him on him.

Sir Kenny Dalglish said: “I’m not going to speculate how much any Rangers player might be worth, or what kind of bids they might receive in the future.

“But it certainly does your bargaining power no harm if clubs from England or abroad are showing an interest in the likes of James Tavernier or Alfredo Morelos.

“Morelos really does have good potential – as long as he keeps to the rules on the park. He is of no value sitting in the stand.

“That said, I’m sure Steven Gerrard will want to keep all of his best players at Ibrox. But it may not be harmful to have things to consider. It’s nice to have options.”
