Arsenal take on Leicester City this weekend in the Premier League and left-back Kieran Tierney will come face to face with his former manager.

Right now the Foxes are third in the Premier League with 23 points and so far they have lost only two matches in the league. And with these superb displays week in and week out, many people have been forced to take back their words regarding Brendan Rodgers.

But speaking before the clash, the former Liverpool boss chose to shower praises on his former Celtic defender saying that Kieran Tierney could be a wonderful asset for Arsenal in the future.

“Kieran will improve Arsenal with his quality. He’s got a massive heart and once he gets himself fully fit and adjusted to the life there he’s going to be a huge asset for them,” he told the Daily Record.

“He’s got leadership qualities – he inspires people around him – and he has that winning mentality from his time growing up at Celtic.

“He brings that mentality every day to training. He’s one of the best boys I’ve ever worked with in terms of that mentality and it spreads throughout the group.”

Kieran Tierney obviously shone under Rodgers when the pair were at Celtic and there was a time that the manager also wanted to sign him at Leicester City this past summer.

But Arsenal managed to sway him in and after recovering from his hernia operation, the Scott has finally been getting some game time this season.

While most people assume that Kieran Tierney will start at left-back when Arsenal take on Leicester on Saturday but since this is an away game it shouldn’t come as a surprise if Tierney is benched for this match and Emery picks Kolasinac instead.
