Arsenal suffer a major injury blow right before their game vs Aston Villa: Big issue?

Arsenal FC Emirates Stadium

Arsenal take on Aston Villa in the Premier League this weekend at Villa Park and the club have now confirmed that left-back Kieran Tierney is not going to be fit in time.

Tierney has been recovering from a calf injury but it looks like he is yet to get back to full fitness and will be unavailable for selection for the Villa game.

The official statement on the club’s official website said: “Kieran is continuing to be assessed for discomfort in the right lower leg and is unavailable for Saturday’s match.”

This will be a big blow for Mikel Arteta since Kieran Tierney has been in fine form this season for the Gunners and his absence is really causing an imbalance in the defensive line.

But now that the Scott will once again be unavailable, Cedric Soares will have to fill in at left-back on Saturday at Villa Park.

Here’s a list of all the other injuries and suspensions for Arsenal:

Bernd Leno
Suspension. Serving one-match suspension following red card against Wolves.

David Luiz
Suspension. Serving one-match suspension following red card against Wolves.

Pablo Mari
Right calf. Pablo has returned to full training and is available for selection.

Mat Ryan
Right hip. Mat has been in full training on Thursday and Friday and is available for selection.
