This experienced full-back might snub a move to Arsenal and join Man United: Can Arteta stop it?

Harry Maguire and Kieran Trippier

Kieran Trippier has had a very good season in Spain but the right-back is keen to return to the Premier League next season with Manchester United and Arsenal interested in signing him.

As per reports in Spain, the two English sides are actively looking for a right-back this summer and they have set their sights on the 30-year-old ex-Spurs man.

Hector Bellerin is going to leave Arsenal in the coming months while Ole wants to bring in a new right-back as he is planning to use Aaron Wan-Bissaka as a central defender next season.

So naturally, both these sides have been gearing up for a massive transfer battle but if The Sun’s recent claims are true then Man United will have a walk in the park in this deal.

The report claims: “KIERAN TRIPPIER has told England team-mates he is keen to secure a move to Manchester United.

“The Red Devils are considering a summer swoop for the Atletico Madrid ace as they try to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.

“Though he has been a big hit in Spain, it appears the ex-Tottenham man is excited about the prospect of a switch to Old Trafford in his native North-West if the opportunity arises.”

Kieran Trippier has two more years left on his current deal with Atletico Madrid and the Spanish side wants around £15million-30 million for the full-back.

So clearly the transfer fee should not be a problem for either of the two Premier League sides but still Man United will have the upper hand in this race since they can offer Trippier Champions League football next season.

Marca are claiming that to tilt this deal in their favour Arsenal are willing to offer Hector Bellerin in a swap deal for Kieran Trippier.

Bellerin is open to a move back to Spain this summer and if he is ready to join Atletico Madrid then the North London side will have an outside chance of overtaking Manchester United in this transfer race.

But having said all this, Kieran Trippier will have to agree to join the Gunners and given the mess that they are in right now, the right-back, in a proper state of mind will any day choose to join Manchester United.
