Chelsea have seen a number of players like Kurt Zouma return back from loan spells but multiple reports have claimed that they could once again be sent back out.

Frank Lampard was appointed the new Blues boss this summer which immediately meant that every player started with a clean slate at the club.

But two players – Kurt Zouma and Kennedy has been tipped to leave the club this summer with the defender likely to be sold off permanently and Kennedy loaned out.

Kurt Zouma was out on loan at Everton last season and he was a key figure in defence – making 32 appearances in the Premier League. And now reports have suggested the Toffees want to sign him permanently during the current transfer window.

But the Chelsea boss has now made it clear that the 24-year-old is not going anywhere and will most likely play a key part next season at the club.

‘Kurt is a very good defender, a very good person and professional, and I want him here, simple as that,’ Lampard told the club’s official website.

‘We are competitive with the centre-backs we’ve got in the team. He had a very good season at Everton and I understand why they want him, but he’s a Chelsea player and I want him.

‘He’s working really hard and if he competes for a position and plays well this season then he plays.”

While Kurt Zouma looks set to prove his worth at Stamford Bridge but Kennedy though might not be that lucky with the manager indicating that the Brazilian could be loaned out once again.

‘With Kenedy, my feeling coming into a big squad with a transfer ban is that I need to assess the players for as long as I can in pre-season to make sure we pick the right squad,” Lampard added.

‘If Kenedy continues to show the attitude and play the way he did today he is making a great case to stay having been on loan in recent seasons.

‘Nobody is in or out of the squad or has had a line drawn under or over them. Everybody is competing to stay in it.’
