Many Arsenal fans were a bit perplexed when they saw that Wenger had decided to start the game vs Man City with his record signing Alexandre Lacazette on the bench. But this was not the first time that the French boss had made such a decision. Lacazette also did not find a place in the starting XI vs Liverpool at Anfield. This time at the Etihad, the French International made way in order to incorporate Alex Iwobi into the first team.

But Lacazette did eventually came on as a substitute and scored the only goal for the Gunners during the match. And now the player’s agent David Venditelli has decided to show his frustration in an interview.

While speaking to SFR Sport, Lacazette’s agent said, “It’s not worrying, because he played at Chelsea,

“Our way of working is to relativise things: 11 matches, nine starts. Of course, it’s not nice to see that he didn’t start that match, but it was – as Arsene Wenger explained – for tactical reasons.

“He’s learning. Alex needs to have calm around him. He’s happy, and Arsenal are too with his work.

“It’s not because a player doesn’t play, even though it’s two important games of course, he would have preferred to have played them.”

Wenger is to known for his historical blunders while making team selections over the past couple of seasons and the match against Manchester City was no different. Once Lacazette came onto the pitch he only scored a goal but his presence changed the whole dynamic of the team. With him on the pitch, Arsenal looked a much more threatening side.
