Laurent Koscielny Arsenal news

AS Monaco are currently going through one of it’s worst phases during recent times as Thierry Henry’s men languish in the 19th spot on the Ligue 1 table.

And the former Arsenal legend is planning to dive into the transfer market during the January window in order to bolster his squad.

Henry believes one of the biggest reasons for his team’s poor performances is the poor defensive line he has and to solve that he wants to bring in a couple of defenders at the start of the new year.

And one player that the Monaco manager is targetting is Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny.

Koscielny has endured a rough couple of months after suffering a long-term injury at the end of the previous season and the Frenchman has managed to return back to first team action just a couple of weeks ago.

Unai Emery has had a number of defensive injuries during the previous month as a result of which Laurent Koscielny had seen a lot of game time.

But the big question is the fact that when Unai Emery gets all his defenders back will Koscielny still be important?

Laurent Koscielny has so far played just a single game in the Premier League meaning Unai Emery is pretty much sorted out his tactics with the input of the Frenchman.

We believe Laurent Koscielny would have been sold off in January if Rob Holding had not been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury.

Holding picked up the injury while playing against Manchester United and as per the reports the centre-back faces six to nine months on the sidelines.

Unai Emery is planning to bring in a new defender during the January transfer window and the manager will only sanction the sale of Laurent Koscielny only when he has a new centre-back onboard.
