Adama Traore has been put up for sale by the new Wolves boss as he looks to revamp his first-team squad for the new season. And according to journalist Duncan Castles, Leeds United are looking to sign him for a cut-price deal.
Castles said on the Transfer Window Podcast: “They [Leeds] were prepared to pay an initial £30m for Adama, who is a player that is well known to Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta.
“He signed him from Aston Villa when he was in charge at Middlesbrough a few years back.”
Will Adama Traore snub Chelsea & Liverpool?
Last week, there were reports that Liverpool were standing at the front of the queue to sign the Wolves winger and the Anfield outfit are ready to spend £30 million.
But if Castles is right then Leeds United are ready to match this amount – something which could be a problem for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Chelsea also remain in the hunt for Adama Traore but they will only make a move for him if they decide to send Hakim Ziyech on loan to AC Milan.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are looking for a backup to Mo Salah and someone like Adama Traore will be the ideal candidate.

There have been whispers of Salah leaving Anfield in the near future and if that happens then the Wolves winger will be the ideal man to fill the void.
Leeds United might not be able to match the might of Liverpool but Traore will get much more game time at Elland Road and this one key factor could prompt him to snub the big boys.
Also, as a manager, Marcelo Bielsa has the power to attract the 25-year-old so both Liverpool and Chelsea will not be able to rest easy – if they are serious about signing the Wolves man.
