Leicester City are just about holding onto their third spot on the Premier League table but Brendan Rodgers will have no time to think about Champions League qualification this weekend as his side will be in the FA Cup.

The Foxes take on Southampton in the semi-final of the FA Cup and Leicester have a serious chance of winning the prestigious tournament. They can at least get into the finals without much sweating, especially since Southampton have not been in the best of forms.

Leicester might go into this match at the back of a 2-3 loss to West Ham United in the league but the Saints have lost two out of their last three league games. And given the talent that Rodgers has in his side, the Foxes are clearly the favourites.

Leicester have won 7 of their last 8 matches in the FA Cup and with a lot of players returning to the squad after missing the West Ham game due to breach of COVID protocols, the manager should be able to name his strongest side on Sunday.

Leicester City team news vs Southampton:

Turkish international Caglar Soyuncu has tested negative for the virus so the defender should be available for selection this weekend against the Saints.

Soyuncu will return in central defence alongside Fofana and Jonny Evans. James Justin and Wes Morgan remain on the sidelines though.

James Maddison, Ayoze Perez missed the West Ham United game for breaking COVID-19 protocols but the pair has since returned to training and should be included in the matchday squad on Sunday. Maddison is expected to start in the No 10 role with Perez hopefully coming off the bench.

Maddison coming into the side means Praet is likely to move to the bench. Tielemans and Ndidi will play as the two defensive midfielders.

Ricardo Pereira will keep his place as the right wing-back meaning Albrighton will not be getting any action. Castagne will play as the left wing-back.

The Leicester City boss has been using a two-man front line over the past few months and this has been really rewarding for him with Iheanacho being in top form. The same arrangement should continue against the Saints as well.

Leicester City’s predicted XI vs the Saints:

Predicted Starting Line-up: Schmeichel; Evans, Fofana, Soyuncu; Pereira, Castagne, Ndidi, Tielemans; Maddison, Iheanacho, Jamie Vardy.
