Leicester City against all odds managed to beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley during the weekend and they will now have the chance to do inflict another setback over the Blues.
Both sides meet once again in midweek, this time in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge and three points in this match will be enough for the Foxes to secure that third spot on the table.
Leicester are undefeated in 12 of their last 13 away matches and after Saturday’s win, they will definitely be going into this week’s match as the favourites.
Brendan Rodgers will love to rest some players from Saturday’s game but if Chelsea pick up all three points then the Blues will overtake them on the table to take up the third spot and Leicester City’s Champions League hopes will once again hang in the balance.
Leicester City team news vs Chelsea:
Jonny Evans was taken off right after the half-hour mark during the FA Cup final and the defender is not expected to be available for selection in midweek.
With Evans out, the manager is going to call Castagne back into defence alongside Soyuncu and Fofana which will then allow Albrighton to play as the right wing-back.
Tielemans scored the historic goal for Leicester City at Wembley and he along with Ndidi are once again going to be the first-choice midfield pairing for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Luke Thomas has been doing great as the left wing-back and the 19-year-old should be rewarded with yet another start against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
James Maddison once again came off the bench in the 1-0 win but the playmaker is now fit enough to make a start and is expected to be named in the starting line-up, replacing Ayoze Perez.
Iheanacho had an underwhelming game in the final but his form over the past few months should be good enough for him to keep his place for this all-important Premier League game Tuesday night.
Apart from Jonny Evans, Harvey Barnes and James Justin and remain long-term absentee due to knee injuries.
