Brendan Rodgers Leicester City vs Man United
Brendan Rodgers Leicester City

Leicester City beat Southampton 2-0 in the EPL and they now sit third on the league table – two points leaders Manchester United . They will have the chance to further consolidate that position when they take on Chelsea on Tuesday.

The Foxes have not suffered a loss in their last five league matches, winning three and drawing two and if they can pick up all three points in midweek then Rodgers’ men will temporarily move to the top of the Premier League table.

Leicester have lost only one of their last eight Premier League matches but they have not been able to beat Chelsea at the King Power Stadium since 2015. The Blues’ form though has been really wobbly over the past couple of months and there’s every chance that Brendan Rodgers’ side come out as the outright winners in midweek.

EPL: Leicester City team news vs Chelsea

Brendan Rodgers could tweak his formation vs Chelsea as he looks to use a three-man central defence after Caglar Soyuncu returned to full fitness a few days ago.

Soyuncu came off the bench vs Southampton during the weekend but the defender will start vs Chelsea, alongside Evans and Fofana. Ricardo Pereira is fit and available for selection but he is not likely to be used by Rodgers in midweek.

Tielemans and Ndidi will keep their place in central defence with James Justin coming in at left wing-back.

Castagne will also come into the side, playing at right-wing back and James Maddison playing as the playmaker. The change in formation means Mark Albrighton will move to the bench.

Harvey Barnes scored Leicester City’s second goal vs Southampton in the EPL during the weekend and he will be one of the two men up front on Tuesday.

The Leicester boss will be sweating over the fitness of striker Jamie Vardy after the player aggravated his hip injury vs the Saints. If Vardy is not fit in time then Iheanacho will come into the starting line-up.
