West Ham United are out in the market looking for a new midfielder and according to the Hammers insider ExWHUemployee, they have the chance of signing Leicester City’s Luke Thomas.

The youngster broke into the senior side in 2020 and last season, he made 22 Premier League appearances for the Foxes. However, it seems like he does not feature in Rodgers’ future plans which is why he wants to cash in on him.

The West Ham insider said, as quoted: “We’ve also been linked with a Leicester left-back Luke Thomas. I can confirm that he has been offered to the club.

“He is a young England under 21 left-back. He has been offered to the club as a more out and out left-back alternative to Kostic.

“Leicester is a very interesting club for us at the moment because they need to sell players. They need to sell players, so they’re looking at moving five to six players on.”

Will West Ham United agree to sign Luke Thomas?

Luke Thomas is currently valued at £10.80 million and his contract with Leicester City expires in 2024. To date, he’s played 61 games for the club and because he’s just 21 years old, the midfielder can be a great investment for the future.

However, we don’t think David Moyes will be too eager to go after Luke Thomas because he’s already in talks to sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic.

Both Kostic and Thomas are left-sided midfielders but the former is currently one of the best assist makers in Europe’s top leagues. So naturally, it makes sense to sign the 29-year-old rather than take a gamble with Luke Thomas.

Leicester City are simply trying their luck by offering the 21-year-old to various clubs but at the moment, West Ham United are not going to show any interest in signing Thomas, more so cause they are very much confident of signing Filip Kostic.
