Leon Bailey to Chelsea

Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a move for Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey during the summer transfer window.

Leon Bailey joined Bayer in 2017 from Genk and this season the player has made 14 appearances in the Bundesliga scoring five goals and providing one assist.

And it looks like Chelsea are willing to splash out £85 million for the services of the player for the upcoming season.

The 22-year-old has been growing in leaps and bounds in Germany and given that Lampard has been working with so many youngsters this season, Stamford Bridge might very well be the next step up in the career of Leon Bailey.

But having this, it will not be easy for Chelsea to get their hands on the winger since apart from them a number of big European names have also been linked with a move for him in the summer.

Will Leon Bailey move to Chelsea?

Leon Bailey primarily plays in the left-wing but the player has the versatility of playing on the right-hand side as well and this is one of the main reasons why so many big clubs want to sign him at the end of the season.

But in both these positions, Lampard has some top quality players, Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi namely hence it will be really difficult for them to convince Baily to make a move to London.

Whichever club the winger joins next season, he will definitely want guaranteed playing time and unfortunately, the Chelsea boss just cannot offer him that right now.

Also playing in the Champions League next season will be a big factor which Leon Bailey will be looking at so if Chelsea cannot keep their UCL status for the upcoming campaign, it will be really hard for them to convince the 22-year-old to join them.

So all in all, while the Blues do have the money to spare in the summer they will really have to work hard in order to secure a deal for the winger, especially with so many clubs waiting in line.
