Liverpool have the opportunity to lift the Premier League trophy after a 29-year hiatus but many people feel that Man City will end up winning the race.

At the start of the season, most pundits predicted that Liverpool would give a tough fight to Man City in the title race but eventually it would be Pep Guardiola’s men who would end up defending their Premier League crown.

And now with just a couple of games to go, Liverpool are still fighting tooth and nail in order to end their barren run in the league but Man City always seem to have the answers to the difficult question.

This is not the first time that Liverpool have come close to winning the Premier League title but each time in the past, the Reds have bottled it.

Now though, Robbie Savage has come out to back the Reds and he has urged the fans not to tag Jurgen Klopp’s men ‘bottlers’ even if they fail to win the Premier League trophy come May.

“Jurgen Klopp will pull off the greatest title triumph of the Premier League era, apart from Leicester’s 5,000-1 miracle, if he ends 29 years of hurt at Liverpool,” he told the Mirror.

“To be champions, I think they will have to win all seven of their remaining games – and even that might not be enough.

“Remarkably, Klopp could preside over a team that wins 97 points, loses only once in 38 games… and it still may not bring the holy grail back to Anfield.

“But if they manage to hold off Manchester City, one of the greatest teams we’ve ever seen in English football, it would be an astonishing prize for a club who have not won the title since 1990.

“That’s why I won’t stand for any nonsense about Liverpool “bottling” the title race if they come up just short.”

During the 2013-14 season, Liverpool literally had one hand on the Premier League trophy but somehow they managed to let it slip and most people feel that Jurgen Klopp’s men are just not experienced enough to hold their nerves at such a crunch time.
