Lyon attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir has chosen to end ties with his agent thanks to Liverpool.

The 25-year-old had been courted by Liverpool last summer and many experts believed the Reds were pretty close to securing a deal for the Frenchman.

Eventually, though, the deal fell through and Jurgen Klopp was unable to bring in one of his key transfer targets even though that hasn’t impacted Liverpool’s performances this season.

But now it looks like Nabil Fekir has been strongly impacted with the failed transfer as a result of which the attacking midfielder has chosen to part ways with his agent.

Fekir was being represented by Jean-Pierre Bernes but the player was not happy that his agent wasn’t able to secure a move to Liverpool last summer. And now Bernes has revealed that the current contract has been terminated.

“I terminated the contract on (Thursday),” the agent said.

“It was a choice (Fekir) took. He will certainly look for another agent.

“Like all human relationships, from time to time you can have a difference of opinion on someone’s future or their behaviour.”

Jurgen Klopp is expected to make a couple of signings this summer and it remains to be seen whether the Liverpool boss will reignite his interest in Nabil Fekir.

But many experts believe the midfielder has done enough this season to spike the interest of Liverpool and Klopp should make a second move for him.

There is one problem though.

As per reports, Real Madrid and Chelsea are also expected to launch bids for the player at the end of the season which might just force Liverpool down the pecking order.

It remains to be seen whether Nabil Fekir still wants to join Liverpool amidst the attention from other top European clubs during the summer transfer window.
