Alisson Becker - Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp made a host of changes to his first XI in midweek when Liverpool took on Arsenal in the Carabao Cup. But most of his star players are expected to return when the Reds travel to Villa Park to take on Aston Villa.

The Reds are yet to taste defeat in this season of the Premier League and up until now, they have dropped points in only a single game.

But despite churning out such superb performances, Liverpool are just six points clear from second-placed Manchester City and it is only a matter of games that the Pep Guardiola’s catch up to them.

Klopp named a host of youngsters in the starting line-up but almost all of them will make way for the big names on Saturday.

Liverpool news vs Villa:

Alexander-Arnold and Robertson were both rested in midweek but the full-backs will return to the first XI this weekend at Villa Park.

Van Dijk suffered a dead leg last weekend and was rested in midweek but the Dutchman will surely return to the heart of defence alongside Dejan Lovren.

Joel Matip has been ruled out for around six weeks which means Joe Gomez who started the clash vs Arsenal will be on the bench on Saturday.

The midfield should see a complete overhaul with Adam Lallana, Chamberlain and Naby Keita all moving out of the first XI in order to make way for Fabinho, Henderson and Wijndalum.

But given the performances of Chamberlain and Lallana, the pair will find a place on the bench and might also come on during the second half.

Liverpool’s front three were all rested vs the Gunners as youngsters Brewster and Harvey Elliot played upfront alongside Divock Origi.

But for the Villa vs Liverpool clash, all three will make way for Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Some reports claim that Mo Salah is not a 100 per cent fit and might not be able to play the full 90 minutes.

Xherdan Shaqiri is still recovering from his calf injury and is not expected to make a return before the international break.
