Liverpool have gotten a long rest due to the unwanted break in the Premier League and now their return match will be against Brighton on Saturday.

The Seagulls have the best defensive record in the league, conceding only five goals while on the other hand, Liverpool’s last win in the league came on the final day of the previous month.

Currently, the Anfield outfit are nine points behind the Premier League leaders so anything other than a win is going to push them further down the table.

Brighton are actually four points better off than Liverpool at the moment but since they will be playing at Anfield, even a draw will be a great result for them. However, Liverpool have a pretty good record at home, so despite their poor form, they should be picking up all three points on Saturday.

Liverpool’s team news vs Brighton:

The biggest selection boost for Jurgen Klopp is that Ibrahima Konate has returned to full training so he will come straight back into the side, in place of Joe Gomez.

Andy Robertson picked up an injury before the international break and there’s a chance he might not be fully fit to start on Saturday. If Robertson is not available then Tsimikas will play on the left-hand side.

Thiago returned to full fitness just before the international break and this was a big sigh of relief for the Liverpool manager. Henderson played a few minutes against Germany earlier this week so he is in line to feature as the third midfielder.

However, with Fabinho, Thiago and Hendo all playing together, Liverpool will not have any out-and-out attacking midfielder so there’s a chance that Harvey Elliot could start in the middle of the park.

Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain are recovering from injuries and neither of them is expected to recover in time for the Brighton game.

Darwin Nunez came to Liverpool amidst a lot of fanfare but he’s finding it very difficult to adjust to the English Premier League. We doubt if Klopp is going to use him up front on Saturday because Jota and Firmino are both fully fit.

Liverpool predicted line up vs Brighton:

Predicted Starting XI(4-3-3): Alisson; Tsimikas/Robertson, Van Dijk, Konate, TAA; Henderson/Elliott, Fabinho, Thiago; Diaz, Jota, Salah.
