Sadio Mane to return to the EPL

Liverpool thrashed Manchester United 5-0 last weekend at Old Trafford and that win has helped the Reds remain just one point behind league leaders Chelsea.

Last Sunday’s win was a fine example of Liverpool’s attacking prowess but they should face a more sterner test this weekend when they welcome Brighton. We don’t believe we are saying this but the Seagulls have been much more defensively organised than Man United this season.

Brighton have been in pretty decent form so far picking up 15 points from their first nine matches but still, Liverpool are the overwhelming favourites to beat them on Saturday.

The Anfield outfit are undefeated in their last 19 Premier League matches while Brighton are winless in their previous four league encounters. And to make matters worse the Seagulls go into this match at the back of a 4-1 loss to Manchester City.

Klopp will obviously be focused on Saturday’s match but the manager will also have an eye on next week’s Champions League clash vs Atletico Madrid so he is expected to make changes if his side can wrap up the tie early.

Liverpool team news vs Brighton:

Ibrahima Konate in central defence against Manchester United, replacing Joel Matip and he could get another start this weekend. Also, Joel Matip and Gomez played in midweek so they are not going to start anyways.

Robertson and Alexander-Arnold were rested for the Carabao Cup but will return to the side against Brighton.

Thiago has finally returned to training this week and the Spaniard will be pushing for a start. But we will have to wait and see if the manager opts to name him in the first XI or does he bring him on as a sub.

James Milner is out with a hamstring injury and is not expected to return until the next international break.

Naby Keita had to be stretchered off against Manchester United but he reported back to training on Thursday and is in line to start on Saturday. Fabinho will go through a late fitness test and if he is not available then Henderson will operate as the defensive midfielder.

If Thiago is not starting then Curtis Jones will get the nod as the third midfielder.

Sadio Mane was rested against Manchester United as Jota played out wide. This time around though, Mane will come back into the side so Jota is expected to replace Firmino as the main centre-forward.

Liverpool predicted line up vs Brighton:

Predicted Starting Line-up(4-3-3): Alisson; Van Dijk, Konate, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold; Fabinho/Henderson, Jones/Thiago, Keita; Sadio Mane, Jota, Mo Salah.
