Liverpool have been maintaining their steady pace at the top of the Premier League table but next up they welcome Everton to Anfield for the Merseyside Derby.

The Reds have dropped just two points up until now in the league meaning they now have a handsome eight-point lead at the top of the table from second-placed side Leicester City.

Liverpool are right now unbeaten in 45 Premier League games and with the kind of form Everton are in, beaten their Merseyside rivals shouldn’t be too much of an ask from Jurgen Klopp’s men.

But having said that, Derby Day has always produced problems for Liverpool in the past and Marco Silva will be hoping they can pick up atleast a draw when they visit their cross-town rivals.

Liverpool team news vs Everton:

Liverpool keeper Alisson Becker is suspended for this game after having picked up a red card during the Brighton game this past weekend.

The absence of the Brazilian means Adrian will be playing in goal and the likes of Richarlison and co can really try and cause the keeper some problems.

Apart from the shot-stopper, Jurgen Klopp is not expected to make any major changes to his starting line-up with the backline of Van Dijk, Lovren, Robertson and Alexander-Arnold to remain the same.

Fabinho has been ruled out for a long period of time meaning Jordan Henderson will be playing in defensive midfield much as he did against Brighton.

Naby Keita is also fully fit but we don’t think Klopp will risk using him especially with Fabinho out of the picture. But if Keita does come into the picture just to rest someone then it will be for Wijnaldum who has been playing continuous games for Liverpool.

Xherdan Shaqiri has returned back from injury for Liverpool and was on the bench for the Brighton game but we doubt if the Swiss international will get any game time in midweek as Jurgen Klopp will field the same front-men vs the Toffees.

Liverpool have not tasted defeat in their last six Merseyside Derbies but their last one back in March of this year ended in a 0-0 draw. And if that scoreline repeats itself in midweek then surely Everton will be doing a great help to the rest of the title challengers.

Liverpool’s predicted XI vs Everton:

Starting XI: Adrian; Van Dijk, Lovren, Arnold, Robertson; Henderson, Wijnaldum/Keita, Chamberlain; Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino.
