Liverpool have just won the Club World Cup last week but they won’t have any time to celebrate since on Boxing Day they take on Leicester City in the Premier League.

Liverpool are undefeated in their last 34 matches in Premier League and so far this season they have dropped just two points and that was against Manchester United.

But Leicester City are currently in the form of their lives meaning if anyone can beat Jurgen Klopp’s men right now, its the Foxes.

The Reds named an academy side during their clash against Aston Villa in the League Cup quarter-final but that was because Klopp chose to prioritize the Club World Cup. But now that they are back in the Premier League, the manager is sure to bring his regular first XI back.

Liverpool team news vs Leicester:

Both Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren are out with injuries meaning young Joe Gomez will partner Virgil Van Dijk in central defence.

Matip is recovering from a knee injury while Dejan Lovren is out with a muscle injury.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain picked up an ankle injury during the Club World Cup while Fabinho also remains sidelined with a long-term injury.

Georginio Wijnaldum missed both World Club Cup matches with a muscle injury and remains a major doubt for Liverpool when the Reds take on Leicester City

If Wijnaldum cannot make himself fit in time for Boxing Day then it will most certainly be James Milner who will play in midfield alongside Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita.

Liverpool’s front three have reaped havoc all throughout the season and barring an injury we don’t think the manager would want to drop any of them in midweek.

The lies of Shaqiri and Origi came off the bench for Liverpool against Flamengo during the Club World Cup and both of them should once again start on the bench when the Reds travel to the King Power Stadium.

Liverpool’s predicted XI vs Leicester:

Starting XI: Alisson Becker; Robertson, Van Dijk, Gomez, Alexander-Arnold; Naby Keita, James Milner, Henderson; Firmino, Salah, Sadio Mane.
