After a few stumbles, Liverpool finally picked up their first win of the 2022/23 Premier League season via a thumping 9-0 win over Bournemouth.

This win was much-needed for Jurgen Klopp and his men but they have no time to rejoice because, on Wednesday, they will take on a buoyant Newcastle United side.

Eddie Howe has totally revitalized this Newcastle United team and they have already picked up a hard-fought point against Manchester City. There’s no way Liverpool can bank on their form from the Bournemouth game because they will need to up their intensity if they wish to pick up all three points against the Magpies.

The win during the weekend was a great result for Liverpool but the problems are still massive for the manager because he has a very long injury list.

Based on the last game’s result, Liverpool are the favourites to win but Newcastle United have one point more than the Anfield outfit and they are a team that can very easily strike a blow to Klopp’s plans.

Liverpool team news vs Newcastle United:

Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate are both ruled out with injury so Klopp has no other option but to keep his faith in the pairing of Joe Gomez and Van Dijk.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Thiago are already unavailable and Harvey Elliot was taken off during the weekend with an injury scare but thankfully the Liverpool manager has admitted that it was only a precaution.

Klopp said after the match: ‘Harvey felt just a little bit in another game. We wouldn’t have taken him off, but [we were] 5-0 up! Nothing after the game, assessment now, spoke now only recently with the physio. [He] should be completely fine.’

While Elliot is fit but we don’t think the manager will use him on Wednesday night meaning summer signing Fabio Carvalho is likely to start alongside Hendo and Fabinho.

However, if Klopp wants to play safe then he will bring James Milner into midfield.

Darwin Nunez is going to serve the final game of a three-match ban on Wednesday and since Diogo Jota is also out injured, Luis Diaz, Salah and Firmino will all hold onto their place.

Liverpool predicted line up vs Newcastle United:

Predicted Starting Line up(4-3-3): Alisson; Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Robertson, TAA; Fabinho, Henderson, Fabio/Milner; Salah, Luis Diaz, Firmino.
