Liverpool picked up a very important win against Inter in the 1st leg of their Round of 16 UCL clash and next up, they have a fairly regulation game against Norwich City in the Premier League.

Norwich City have seen a spike in form, winning two and drawing one out of their previous five league outings but they are no match for the mighty Liverpool side so we expect Klopp’s side to pick up all three points on Saturday.

Liverpool have won 10 of their last 11 matches against Norwich in all competitions and they are undefeated in 32 of their last 34 league matches so unless they blunder majorly, we don’t see the Reds dropping points in this encounter.

The match against Inter was really intense so we do expect the manager to rest several of his first-team players this weekend and this could give the Canaries a glimmer of hope. The Reds are playing catchup with league leaders Manchester City and they still have a game in hand so they need to keep winning all their games if they wish to maintain the pressure on Guardiola’s side.

Liverpool team news vs Norwich City:

Konate formed a stellar partnership with Van Dijk in central defence on Wednesday but the former is going to be rested in midweek as Joel Matip takes his place.

Robertson is also expected to be rested with Tsimikas available as a backup and even Trent Alexander-Arnold will drop to the bench. TAA had a really poor second half vs Inter and we expect James Milner to take his place on the right-hand side of defence.

The midfielder area might see a complete reshuffle on Saturday with Harvey Elliot, Fabinho and Thiago all being rested. Henderson and Naby Keita came off the bench on Wednesday but they should be getting starts against the Canaries.

Diogo Jota might have picked up an ankle ligament damage during the Inter game so he’s going to miss out this weekend.

Speaking after the UCL win, the manager said: “A twisted ankle, it’s swollen. That’s not obviously a good sign, but we have to see. We will check it as early as possible tomorrow, but we need further assessment.”

The absence of Jota means Firmino will come back into the starting line up and even January signing Luis Diaz is expected to get a start.

Liverpool predicted line up vs Norwich City:

Predicted Starting Line up(4-3-3): Alisson; Tsimikas, Van Dijk, Matip, James Milner/Alexander-Arnold; Henderson, Naby Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Luis Diaz, Firmino, Mo Salah.
