Liverpool lost their previous Premier League game 3-1 to Leicester City and with that dented confidence, the Reds will now have to take on RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

The Reds face the German side in the first leg of the Round of 16 on Tuesday and due to all the travelling restrictions in Germany, this match will be played at the Puskas Arena in Hungary.

Liverpool should have been favourites to win this match but after three consecutive losses in the Premier League, the odds have evened out a lot and now there’s a big chance that Klopp’s side could slump to a defeat in midweek.

The Premier League side will be without a lot of their key players and over the weekend, Klopp has had to deal with some fresh injury concerns. So we doubt if Liverpool will look to go all out on Tuesday just to make a point. They will want to keep the two-legged tie alive and then wrap it up at Anfield next month.

Liverpool team news vs RB Leipzig:

Alisson committed yet another mistake on Saturday which led to a goal but the Brazilian will keep his place in midweek against RB Leipzig.

Fabinho is expected to miss the next few games after having failed to recover from his muscular injury meaning Jordan Henderson will have to remain in central defence.

Ozan Kabak played alongside Henderson at the King Power and the same pairing is expected to be named in the starting XI in Hungary.

James Milner could play only 17 minutes on Saturday as he had to be taken off with a hamstring injury and he too will be an absentee vs Leipzig. Thiago replaced Milner and the Spaniard will get a start in midweek alongside Wijnaldum.

Curtis Jones was one of the better players for Liverpool against Leicester City and Klopp should name him in the first XI for the UCL clash meaning Oxlade-Chamberlain remains on the bench.

Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Firmino have all been misfiring during the second half of the season but with Divock Origi and Diogo Jota both out injured, Jurgen Klopp has very little options up front.

Xherdan Shaqiri is available but we don’t think the Liverpool boss will use him in a key Champions League game.

Liverpool’s predicted line-up vs RB Leipzig:

Predicted Starting XI: Alisson; Henderson, Ozan Kabak. Alexander-Arnold, Robertson; Thiago, Curtis Jones, Wijnaldum; Mo Salah, Firmino, Sadio Mane.
