Liverpool picked up yet another win in the Premier League this weekend and next up they take on Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League.

The Reds have been pitched in Group E of the UCL and right now the fate of all the sides in this group are hanging by a fine thread.

Liverpool might be on a roll in England but their European campaign has faltered this season as they have managed just three wins out of their five matches so far.

The Anfield outfit might currently be sitting at the top of the group but a loss to Salzburg could see them knocked out of the tournament and given that Salzburg are undefeated in 17 of their last 19 Champions League matches, the chances of this happening are quite profound.

Liverpool team news vs Salzburg:

Jurgen Klopp has been reshuffling the pack recently in order to give some of his players a much-deserved rest but in midweek, the German is sure to name his strongest XI.

Van Dijk was partnered by Dejan Lovren in central defence against Bournemouth during the weekend and the pair should get the nod at the Red Bull Arena too.

Joe Gomez played as the right-back against the Cherries but he will make way as Trent Alexander-Arnold returns to the starting line-up.

Fabinho remains a long-term absentee and as per the latest reports, the midfielder is expected to return only after Christmas meaning Jordan Henderson will be deployed in the defensive midfielder’s role against Salzburg.

Naby Keita got a start in the Premier League clash during the weekend and with Adam Lallana suffering from cramp the Guinean international is expected to keep his place in the first XI.

Sadio Mane was one of the players who was rested by the Liverpool manager but he will surely return to take the place of Oxlade-Chamberlain who played as a winger against Bournemouth.

There are reports that Klopp might choose to start Divock Origi up front in place of Roberto Fimrino but we don’t think the manager will take such a big gamble – especially in Europe.

Mo Salah starts on the right flank as usual for Liverpool.

Liverpool’s predicted XI vs Salzburg:

Starting XI: Alisson Becker; Van Dijk, Dejan Lovren, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson; Henderson, Naby Keita, Wijnaldum; Sadio Mane, Firmino, Mo Salah.
