Liverpool return to action in the English Premier League this weekend as they take on Everton in the Merseyside Derby on Sunday.

The Reds are in top form this season, having lost just a single match in the league so far and they only need a couple of more points in order to pick up their maiden Premier League crown.

Liverpool are undefeated in their last 21 matches against Everton in all competitions meaning it should not be a major issue in picking up a win at Goodison Park on Sunday but this unexpected break could cause a hindrance to Klopp’s well-oiled machine.

Right before the shutdown, Liverpool were knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid and some pundits think the Anfield outfit will be itching to make a statement of intent once they return to the pitch.

Liverpool team news vs Everton:

Klopp has a few injury issues to deal with before the derby but thankfully his defensive line is intact with Alisson Becker all set to replace Adrian infront of goal.

Van Dijk and Joe Gomez has been Liverpool’s first-choice central defensive pairing and the duo will once again take the field on Sunday while Robertson and Alexander-Arnold play as full-backs.

Robertson has been carrying around a slight injury during the past few weeks but the Scottish international should be fully fit to start vs Everton.

Naby Keita and Minamino will start on the bench as Fabinho reprises his defensive midfielder’s role and Henderson plays in a more advanced position.

Xherdan Shaqiri has picked up a calf injury and the Swiss international is ruled out for the derby which is a bit of a problem for Jurgen Klopp since Mo Salah is also expected to miss this game.

The Egyptian has suffered a knock and might not be a 100% fit to start at Goodison Park.

This would mean midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be forced to play on the left-wing while Sadio Mane starts on the other side of the pitch.

Roberto Firmino will start up front as the centre-forward but the Brazilian should be replaced by Divock Origi sometime in the second half of the match.

Five substitutes are allowed for the rest of the season meaning if Liverpool can wrap up the match early then Jurgen Klopp will be able to give some game time to players like Keita and Minanimo.

UPDATE: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Salah and Robertson should both be fit to start vs Everton. But we don’t think the manager will want to take any risks right at the start of resumption, especially with the Egyptian.

Liverpool’s predicted line-up vs Everton:

Possible starting line-up: Alisson; Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Robertson, Alexander-Arnold; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson; Sadio Mane, Firmino/Divock Origi, Chamberlain.
