Liverpool went into the international break at the back of a loss to West Ham United and there’s a slight chance they could slip up again this weekend when they face Arsenal.

The Reds have been blowing hot and cold this season, dropping points in five games already and with the number of injuries they currently have, Jurgen Klopp is going to have a nightmare naming his starting line up on Saturday.

The Anfield outfit are undefeated in their last nine home matches but that record is well and truly under threat with as many as eight injury concerns.

Arsenal have really upped their game in the past few months so they are guaranteed to come out all guns blazing. And given how shaky Liverpool looked at times vs West Ham United, the Gunners could very well perform yet another smash and grab.

Liverpool team news and injury updates vs Arsenal:

Joe Gomez has joined the long injury list in recent weeks, picking up a calf injury but the defender should be back this weekend.

Klopp does have players like Ibrahima Konate and Joel Matip at his disposal so even if Gomez is not ready, it should not be a major headache for the Liverpool boss.

Andy Robertson though could be badly missed after the left-back picked up a hamstring injury while playing for Scotland. The Times are reporting that he is set to miss Saturday’s game.

If Robertson is not fit then Tsimikas is going to take up that left-back role.

James Milner and Naby Keita are both on the sidelines with respective injuries but they should be closer to making a return after having a two-week break.

We are not yet sure how much progress they have made during the break so, at the time of writing this, these two midfielders remain doubtful.

Jordan Henderson is another player who picked up a minor knock while playing for the national side but he’s expected to be fit in time to face Arsenal.

Sadio Mane also picked up an injury scare in the past week but scans have revealed that the injury is not too bad so he is not going to miss out. This is a major boost for the Liverpool boss since Roberto Firmino is already on the sidelines with a serious hamstring injury.

So many injuries mean the Liverpool boss can make very limited rotations to his side on Saturday and this could be a cause of concern since the Reds take on Porto just four days later in the Champions League.
