Liverpool will take on Burnley in the Premier League on Wednesday and the outcome of this match could decide if Liverpool will play in the Champions League next season or not.

Chelsea and Leicester City play on Tuesday night and no matter what the result, the Anfield outfit will have a golden chance to break into the top four if they can beat Burnley at Turf Moor.

Liverpool have been in pretty great form on the road this season winning 5 of their last 6 away matches in the Premier League while Burnley have lost their last 3 home matches.

Burnley are winless in eight at Turf Moor but the kind of game they play, Liverpool are sure to have a frustrating evening. They might have picked up a win at the weekend thanks to Alisson’s later winner but if Liverpool’s forwards misfire in midweek once again then Jurgen Klopp will have to manage his side in the Europa League next season.

Liverpool team news vs Burnley:

The injury list keeps growing for Klopp with Ozan Kabak being the latest addition. The defender has been ruled out for the remainder of the season so Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips will pair up in central defence.

The manager said before the Burnley game: “From the long-term injured, and unfortunately Ozan is a long-term, nobody is coming back I don’t think [for the remaining two fixtures].”

James Milner is facing a race against time to be fit for Wednesday but even if he is available then also he will only find a place on the bench. Thiago and Fabinho will play in central midfield with Wijnaldum playing in a more advanced role.

Diogo Jota was one of the in-form players for Liverpool but he too has picked up an injury and is not going to be ready for the Burnley game.

The manager said of Jota’s injury: “So, we won at MUFC but Diogo got something with the bone. Not too serious but serious enough to end the season. That’s it.”

The absence of Jota means Sadio Mane will get a start on the left wing with Firmino playing as the main centre-forward and Mo Salah playing on the right-hand side of attack.
