Liverpool's Jordan Henderson playing for England

Liverpool kicked off their 21/22 Premier League campaign with a commanding 3-0 win over Norwich City and in matchweek two, they face a slightly robust test in the form of Burnley.

Jurgen Klopp’s side lost 1-0 to Burnley at home last season in the league but this time Anfield will be packed with supporters so the Clarets will not have it so easy on the territory of their enemies.

Jurgen Klopp rested several first-team regulars last weekend but most of them are slowly finding their rhythm back after a delayed holiday so expect a few of them to start on Saturday.

After a really muted transfer window, everyone was sceptical about Liverpool’s performances this season but the Anfield outfit have made a really fine start. But having said that, they will need to pick up all three points this weekend since, in matchweek three, Klopp’s side will face Chelsea meaning everything can go down the spiral in the blink of an eye.

Liverpool team news vs Burnley:

Ibrahima Konate remains the only big signing of the summer for Liverpool but he was on the bench against Norwich City.

The manager is planning to introduce him slowly into the fold which is why we think Van Dijk is once again going to be partnered by Joel Matip in central defence this weekend.

Robertson is still absent with a ligament injury so Tsimikas will continue to start on the left-hand side of defence with Trent playing as the right-back.

Thiago and Jordan Henderson both got some minutes under their belt in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Aston Villa so there’s a big chance we might see both of them in action on Saturday.

If Henderson is not starting then Naby Keita is likely to keep his place in central midfield from the first matchweek.

Fabinho came off the bench against Norwich and he is expected to start in defensive midfield at Anfield this time around.

Diogo Jota put in a fine shift up front vs the Canaries, scoring the opening goal so he is going to hold onto his place in the line-up as Roberto Firmino looks on from the bench. As usual, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah will operate down the wings.
