The international break has always been a cause of concern for club managers and the Liverpool team news updates are surely an account of this statement.

Jurgen Klopp had a mixed couple of weeks going into the international break – drawing games vs Chelsea and Manchester City but after as the Premier League resumes the German might have even bigger worries.

Liverpool team news and injuries:

The major concern for Klopp is the injury sustained by his striking pair – Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

While Salah has picked up a hamstring injury as Egypt beat eSwatini and the forward is expected to miss the game against Huddersfield. Initially, it was thought that Salah had a torn hamstring but now reports are suggested the injury is not that bad even though further tests have to be conducted.

“Primary diagnosis confirms it is just a strain and no tear is apparent, but the player will need to undergo scans.”

Sadio Mane is also a doubt for the Huddersfield game as the Senegalese is reportedly suffering from a broken thumb. Mane’s injury is also not very serious but no confirmed reports have come out about his fitness putting him in the doubtful pool.

Defender Virgil Van Dijk is suffering from bruised ribs and the Holland international has had that injury for the past two months – as per Ronald Koeman.

While Van Dijk might have played against Huddersfield but now that the injury has come to light we doubt if Jurgen Klopp will risk the centre-back.

“The medical staff of the Dutch national team spoke to the medical staff of Liverpool and made the decision that he was playing only the Germany game and then after back to Liverpool. He is ready to play next weekend.”

James Milner is suffering from a hamstring injury and he remains a major doubt for the Huddersfield game. Milner has played a superb role for Liverpool ever since he moved to Anfield and his absence is surely going to give Jurgen Klopp something to think about.
