Liverpool have been in a really average run of form this season and after 33 games, they find themselves four points off that final elusive Champions League spot.

Next up in the Premier League, Liverpool will take on Manchester United and the outcome of this match will go a long way in determining if the Reds will play in next season’s Champions League or not.

Liverpool have not suffered a loss in their previous five league matches but they do go into this game at the back of two consecutive draws, something which is almost close to a loss given they had come against Leeds United and Newcastle.

The Anfield outfit have been dealing with numerous defensive injuries all throughout this season and to make matters worse, they have really struggled to find any kind of consistency in front of goal, scoring just 55 goals in 33 league matches so far.

Liverpool team news vs Manchester United:

Nat Phillips has picked up a hamstring strain which kept him out of action for the Newcastle United game. If the youngster cannot be fit in time then Fabinho will once again have to partner Ozan Kabak in central defence.

Thiago and Wijnaldum are guaranteed starters in the middle of the pitch but the third midfielder’s role will be a real dilemma for the Liverpool boss.

While Klopp does have few options at his disposal but none of them has been particularly great this season. Naby Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain are not likely to get starts on Sunday so it will be a race between James Milner and Curtis Jones.

Curtis Jones is back to full fitness and could start vs Manchester United but we feel Klopp will look for experience hence James Milner is to be preferred.

Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have been really underwhelming this season for Liverpool and the manager will love to bench them and use other players on Sunday.

But just like the midfield area, Klopp does not have too many options up front either. So we expect Sadio Mane to keep his place in the starting line-up while Firmino could be replaced by Diogo Jota.

Mo Salah is the only shining spark right now and he is a guaranteed starter on the right flank against Manchester United. Divock Origi is ruled out with a muscular injury.
