Liverpool were held to a goalless draw at Anfield by Bayern Munich in the Champions League earlier this week.

The Reds were playing against the Bavarians in the first leg of the Round of 16 and this being a home game for Jurgen Klopp’s men everyone expected sparks to fly.

But instead, the match turned out to a cagey affair wherein both the sides were too cautious not to concede the first goal.

Liverpool were the better side on the night but sadly that does not reflect on the scoreline and now Bayern Munich will play the second leg in their backyard.

And given the woeful away record for Liverpool in the Champions League this season, Jordan Henderson and co could in for a tough time.

While most of the Liverpool players were on top of their game on Tuesday night but according to BBC pundit Dion Dublin, Jordan Henderson was easily one of the best players on the pitch.

Dublin said“I thought Henderson was brilliant.

“I thought he was very positive, always trying to get on the ball at every opportunity, trying to get his defenders up the pitch as well.

“Always wanting to try and play forward which is what I do like about Henderson.

“His game has changed, he’s become a man now and he’s one of the seniors here at Liverpool – and it showed tonight in his performance.

“A very mature leader.”

Jordan Henderson joined Liverpool from Sunderland in 2011 and this season he has been one of the first players that Jurgen Klopp names in his teamsheets.

While many have questioned the creative aspect of his game but the midfielder is a manager’s delight.

Yes, he lacks that certain flare that his predecessor Steven Gerrard used to possess his this limited capability means Jordan Henderson works extra hard to take control.

And this was once again evident against Bayern Munich on Tuesday when the 28-year-old gave it his everything.
