Sadio Mane to return to the EPL

Liverpool are back in action in the Premier League and this weekend they take on a struggling Watford side at Anfield in an afternoon kick-off.

The Reds are just one point behind league leaders Manchester City which means they now have a very realistic chance at overtaking their arch-rivals. Liverpool need to keep winning all of their remaining matches and hope that City slip up at some point in the coming weeks.

Liverpool will be playing the Hornets at home and Jurgen Klopp’s side have a phenomenal record at Anfield this season. They are currently on a nine-game unbeaten home streak in the league and have kept a clean sheet in seven of their last nine home matches in the EPL.

Watford, on the other hand, are 18th on the league table and have won just one out of their previous five outings. It will be really tough for the away side to stand up to Liverpool on Saturday so we expect nothing but an easy Liverpool win this weekend.

Liverpool team news vs Watford:

Thankfully, the Reds did not lose any players to unexpected injuries during the international break so Jurgen Klopp will have a fully fit squad to choose from.

Trent Alexander-Arnold had pulled out of the England squad due to a hamstring injury and the right-back will be touch and go this weekend. If TAA is not ready to return then Joe Gomez or James Milner could slot into that role.

Andy Robertson was not part of their FA Cup victory because he had tested positive but the left-back made a return to action this weekend for Scotland’s draw vs Austria. This means he is also back in contention for the Liverpool vs Watford tie this weekend.

Naby Keita is a slight injury doubt due to a knee injury but this won’t be a cause of concern for Jurgen Klopp because he has ample midfielders at his disposal.

Henderson, Thiago, Fabinho and even Oxlade-Chamberlain will be in line to form a trio in the middle of the pitch vs the Hornets.

Mo Salah and Sadio Mane both played lengthy matches during the break so there’s a chance that one of them might be rested on Saturday. The issue with this selection call though will be that Luis Diaz is coming back from South America so he will also be tired after the long journey.

All of the four forwards are fit and available for selection so it’s only a matter of who the manager wants to rest for the Liverpool vs Watford game.
