Liverpool are expected to have a busy transfer window at the end of the season and club legend John Barnes has named three players that Jurgen Klopp should try and sign in the summer.

The first one is Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu who has caught the attention of a number of big clubs this season and Liverpool are one those who have been linked with a summer move for the Turkish international.

Barnes told GentingBet, as reported by Football365: “Soyuncu would fit in well at any club.

“He’s taken the role of centre-back at Leicester by the scruff of the neck and he’s really improved and given something extra as well as he’s good on the ball.

“If Leicester did want to sell, Soyuncu could go to any of the top clubs.”

The 23-year-old has been linked with Liverpool for a number of months but it remains to be seen if Klopp is serious about making a bid since he already has players like Joe Gomez and Joel Matip amongst his ranks. Also, this deal is not expected to be an obvious one since Leicester City are one of the hardest negotiators in English football.

The second name on the list is that of Real Sociedad’s Diego Llorente who is also a centre-back by trade.

Barnes continued: “Liverpool’s recruitment is very specific, they’ll be looking at years down the line and Llorente is only 26. Having someone like Llorente come in and give a solidness as well as the experience is great.”

According to some rumours, Liverpool are ready to spend as much as £40 million for the 26-year-old as Klopp wants him to be the long-term partner to Virgil Van Dijk.

This season, Llorente has featured in 19 La Liga matches for Sociedad before the league was suspended and apart from playing as a centre-back, the Spain international can also play as a right-back.

While these two players have a big chance of playing for the Anfield outfit next season, the third one is more like a fairytale desire considering Manchester United are said to be the frontrunners in signing this youngster.

He finally said: “I’m going to patriotic and say that Sancho would be great, being an England player and an entertaining player as well. I would say someone like that would be great to get on the wing and terrorise defences.”
