Luka Jovic has endured a really troublesome time at Real Madrid and it seems like the La Liga side are finally going to offload him, as per the AS.

Madrid paid a lot of money in 2019 to sign the Serbian international but they are now desperate to cash in on him and Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United are said to be interested in him.

The report claims: “Luka Jovic is a problem for Real Madrid today. One of many, because the remodeling of the squad that the white club intends, in a context of global crisis in the world of football, presents enormous obstacles.

“One of them is to find an outlet for the Serbian striker and do it at a decent price so that his passing through Madrid does not damage the bank’s accounts too much. A complicated task, since Jovic has been at a low level for two consecutive seasons, although with all Madrid he trusts that acceptable proposals will arrive for him.

“The interest of various teams, such as United or Chelsea, has transcended from England, but that interest has not yet been translated into concrete offers.”

Is Luka Jovic going to join Manchester United?

Manchester United are looking for a long-term alternative to Edinson Cavani and over the past few months, they have been linked with strikers like Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.

But both these players have been priced at around €170 million which is going to be a major problem, not only for Manchester United but for the other suitors as well.

Luka Jovic though is available for just €40-odd million which makes him a really lucrative alternative.

The forward has been really underwhelming since joining Real Madrid and his performances were so poor that he was sent out on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt(the club from where he was signed) in January.

Eintracht Frankfurt are also looking to resign Luka Jovic but the transfer fee could be a big problem for them.

Man United are badly in need of a striker so players like Kane and Haaland are going to be their best and safest bets this summer. But if Real Madrid are really ready to sell Luka Jovic for just €40 million then we think the 23-year-old is worth the gamble.

He spent the second half of the 2020-21 season on loan in Germany where he managed to net four goals and provide two assists in 18 Bundesliga games.
