According to the BBC, Spurs have given the green light to Kyle Walker as the English International has been allowed to leave the club.

For a long time now, Walker has been wanting to move out of White Hart Lane following an alleged bust-up with manager Mauricio Pochettino. Ever since that incident took place it’s been really hard for Walker to get first team football. And now it looks as if the Spurs player is heading to Man City in order to revive his career.

Kyle Walker
Walker joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2009 from Sheffield United for a fee of £3 million.

According to the report, Manchester City have opened negotiations with Tottenham for the transfer of Kyle Walker. Negotiations are at a very early stage and the fee has not yet been decided upon. But many people feel that Spurs have put a price tag of £40 million on the right-back.

What can Walker bring to Man City:

Ever since Guardiola has started the rebuilding process at City he has cleared a lot of dead wood from the locker room. This included the likes of Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna moving out of the club in free transfers.

So now City are currently without the presence of a dynamic right-back amongst their ranks. And Kyle Walker fits the brief perfectly. He is a player with bags full of energy who can make forward runs with absolute ease. This would mean that Guardiola will have an extra attacking threat from the wings. Walker’s delivery into the box is also very accurate and dangerous. And with the ariel threat that City possess this could add up to a lot of goals next season.

Man City are also said to be expecting another right-back as Dani Alves is set to join the club on a free transfer from Juventus. But Guardiola is signing Kyle Walker with a definite eye for the future.

How Sheffield United can benefit from this deal:

If Kyle Walker’s transfer to Manchester City does eventually take place then it would be beneficiary for Sheffield United.

It was Sheffield United who sold Kyle Walker to Tottenham Hotspur back in 2009 and according to the BBC, Sheffield United had but a sell-on clause. Thus Sheffield will receive 10% of any fee above £3 million for the transfer of Kyle Walker to Man City.
