4-3-3 Man City’s predicted line up against Leicester City: De Bruyne to finally get a start?

Man City suffered a 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur during the opening weekend but since then they have steadied the ship and on matchweek four, they face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s side have scored ten goals in their last two league matches and these performances are more than enough to re-sync the first-team players after the short summer break.

City are currently seventh on the Premier League table tied on points with Leicester City. But there’s no doubt that it’s Guardiola’s side who are the favourites to pick up a win on Saturday.

The Man City boss does have a few absentees going into this game but he should be able to name a pretty strong line up and since Leicester have their own injury woes, the contest is still tilted in favour of the Cityzens. City are back in the Champions League next week so if they can wrap up the Leicester game early then Guardiola is sure to take off some key players early.

Man City team news vs Leicester City:

Ederson was blocked from travelling to Brazil during the break which is why he has now been banned by the Brazilian FA courtesy of a FIFA rule.

This means the keeper will be unavailable this weekend and with Zack Steffen also out with COVID, 36-year-old Scott Carson will start in goal against the Foxes.

Aymeric Laporte is likely to remain on the bench for this one as John Stones makes his first appearance of the season for Man City.

Phil Foden has spent some time out injured but he is going to be fully fit and available for selection this weekend. But since Jack Grealish and Sterling are both there, we will have to wait and see if the manager will use him in the first XI or not.

Bernardo Silva was tipped to leave during the summer but he’s ended up staying at the club and he even featured in midfield against Arsenal. It will be interesting to see if Pep uses him once again or does Kevin De Bruyne come back into the side.

De Bruyne used the international break to work on his fitness so he will be raring to go. Now, it’s up to the manager to decide on his selection against Leicester.

Gabriel Jesus is another player who is suspended by the Brazilian FA meaning Riyad Mahrez is likely to come back into the side after starting on the bench vs Arsenal.

Jack Grealish and Sterling will be fighting for the left-wing spot and given how he’s started his career at Man City, it’s safe to say the former Aston Villa man will get the nod ahead of his international teammate.

Man City predicted line up vs Leicester City:

Predicted line up: Carson; Walker, John Stones, Ruben Dias, Cancelo; Silva/De Bruyne, Gundogan, Rodri; Sterling/Grealish, Mahrez, Torres.
