Man City blew away Bayern Munich in the first leg of their quarter-final clash in the Champions League and thanks to that 3-0 win, the Premier League side now have one leg in the semis.

The German side will welcome Manchester City in the 2nd leg this week and Tuchel’s side will have to play out of their skins in order to overturn this huge deficit.

Everyone thought Bayern and Man City will be very evenly matched but the Bundesliga side could not stand up to Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad. City will definitely go into the 2nd leg much more relaxed and as the favourites but they cannot afford to take their foot off the peddle for even a minute.

Man City have won their last three matches against Bayern Munich in all competitions plus they are unbeaten in seven away games. Honestly, no one expects Bayern Munich to turn this one around because they failed to win at the weekend as well. Thomas Tuchel is tactically very sound so we think this one’s going to be a much closer contest but in the end, it’s going to be the English side who will come up on top.

Manchester City’s team news and injuries:

Phil Foden is the only player who is absent for the visiting team but because Jack Grealish has been in such fine form, his international teammate is not going to be missed.

Foden has been out since undergoing appendix surgery but he’s returned to training this week which is a big boost for Pep Guardiola. However, the winger is not going to be ready to face Bayern Munich.

After Joao Cancelo’s exit, Guardiola has shifted to a three-man defensive line and the manager is going to stick to the same formation in midweek as well.

The Man City boss has made it clear that Kyle Walker cannot play in this system so the full-back is expected to remain on the bench once again.

John Stones played as the second defensive midfielder in the first leg and he is going to pair up with Rodri this week as well.

Bernardo Silva was the star of the show in the 3-0 win and the Portuguese international is going to keep Mahrez on the bench once again.

The Man City manager is famous for making weird selection choices in such high-profile matches but he is not going to take any such shocking calls on Wednesday.

Bayern Munich are going to throw the kitchen sink at Man City, more so because they will be playing at home but after how they played in the first leg, this one’s for City to lose.
