The Man City vs Spurs match at the weekend was postponed meaning City’s next game will be in their second group fixture in the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola’s side opened their European campaign with a commanding 4-0 win over Sevilla and next up, they will face Borussia Dortmund at the Etihad Stadium.

These two sides met in the Champions League during the 20/21 season and Man City won that two-legged tie 4-2. City might have had a few hiccups this season but if they can replicate their form from the Sevilla game then this will be another comfortable win for the Premier League giants.

Manchester City are undefeated in their previous nine home matches and since they got the weekend off, Guardiola will not need to chop and change his first XI on Wednesday night.

Man City’s team news & injuries vs BVB:

Guardiola has three injured players going into the midweek game and all of them are defenders. Aymeric Laporte, Kyle Walker and John Stones are the only injured players in the squad.

Laporte will only return to action in October but Walker along with Stones could be fit in time for the Dortmund game.

Apart from these three players, the manager has no more injury concerns. If the two England internationals are unavailable then Akanji and Gomez will hold onto their place in the team.

The trio of Rodri, Silva and Kevin De Bruyne played in midfield vs Sevilla and since Man City did not play this weekend, we don’t expect Pep to change this winning combination.

Summer signing Kalvin Phillips has returned from injury but we don’t think Guardiola is going to hand him his first full European start against a team like Dortmund.

Grealish and Foden played as the two wide players last week but there’s a chance that Jack Grealish will drop to the bench as Riyad Mahrez comes back into the first XI.

Erling Haaland scored a brace against Sevilla and he wouldn’t miss an opportunity to score against his former team.

Man City predicted line up vs Dortmund:

Predicted Starting Line up(4-3-3): Ederson; Cancelo, Akanji, Ruben Dias/Walker, Gomez; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Foden, Mahrez, Haaland.
