Man City will take on Everton in the Premier League this weekend and with Arsenal just one point behind them, this one is a must-win game for the Cityzens.

Manchester City have played one game less than the Gunners so they have a buffer but we don’t think this City side will slip up against an Everton team who are just two points above the relegation zone.

Also, the blue half of Manchester will welcome Real Madrid for the second leg next week so Pep Guardiola will have one eye on that match.

Reaching the Champions League final will be a bit more important to the Man City manager so we think he is going to rest his important players on Sunday. Everton have won just one out of their previous five matches in the league so we really do not expect them to pull the rabbit out of the hat, no matter who starts for Manchester City.

Manchester City’s team news and injuries:

Nathan Ake is the only injured player for Man City at the moment and his return date is still unknown. However, even if he is back to full fitness, Pep will protect him for the second leg against Real Madrid.

If Ake is not available then Manuel Akanji is the only reliable player who can play on the left-hand side of defence so the Swiss international won’t be risked on Sunday thereby allowing Laporte to come into the side.

John Stones, Jack Grealish and De Bruyne will all be on the bench against Everton which means players like Rico Lewis and Foden are going to get starts.

This is the perfect setup for Kalvin Phillips to get some game time but the former Leeds midfielder has featured in only eight league games this season so there’s a very slim chance that he is going to start.

Erling Haaland will also be rested on Sunday because the Man City boss has the perfect backup in the form of Julian Alvarez.

Man City predicted line up vs Everton:

Predicted Starting line up(3-2-4-1): Ederson; Walker, Ruben Dias, Laporte; Lewis, Rodri; Gundogan, Phil Foden, Silva, Mahrez; Alvarez.
