Man City picked up a really important win over Crystal Palace on Saturday and next up, they return to the Champions League.
Manchester City welcome RB Leipzig for the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 this week and the two-legged tie is perfectly balanced at 1-1.
MCFC are the overwhelming favourites to win on Tuesday night as they are unbeaten in nine home games and the last time they lost a match was against Tottenham Hotspur in the first week of February.
With the tie balanced at 1-1, Leipzig will feel they have a very good chance to cause an upset but they will have to play out of their skins in order to take the upper hand at the Etihad Stadium
Manchester City’s team news and rotations:
After Joao Cancelo’s move out, Nathan Ake has made the left-back his own so he will continue in that role but the right-back position is going to be a bit of a tricky one.
John Stones played on the right in the Palace game while Kyle Walker sat on the bench but we don’t think Pep Guardiola will risk using Stones in that role in a key Champions League game.
Kevin De Bruyne started on the bench on Saturday as Silva played in the No 10 role but the Belgian international will also return to the side.
Man City have no injuries or suspensions for the second leg and this is a major advantage for Pep Guardiola because if the tie goes into extra time then bench strength will play a major role in deciding the outcome.
Riyad Mahrez was an unused sub in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace but he should replace Phil Foden in midweek because he’s a natural right-wing player. Apart from this one change, there is not likely to be any other rotation in the front line.
Man City predicted line up vs RB Leipzig:
Predicted Starting Line up(4-3-3): Ederson; Nathan Ake, Akanji, Dias, Walker; Gundogan, Rodri; Grealish, De Bruyne, Mahrez; Halaand.
