Man City suffered a significant Champions League setback in midweek as they went down 2-0 to PSG in their second group stage game. And things are not expected to cool down this weekend either as City take on Liverpool.

City travel to Anfield for this crunch game and a win against their arch-rivals should be good enough to push them into the top spot of the Premier League table.

Guardiola’s side have been in stellar form away from home winning 14 of their last 16 away matches in the league and they have also kept a clean sheet in their previous five EPL games.

The Reds are the only side who are yet to taste defeat but that record could be broken on Sunday since Man City will be eager to come up with a response after that loss to PSG(despite playing the better brand of football).

Man City team news vs Liverpool:

John Stones is yet to make his first appearance of the season and given the gravitas of the game, we don’t think Pep will throw him into the starting line up on Sunday.

Zinchenko is out with a knock and will not be available for selection meaning Walker and Joao Cancelo will be the two full-backs against Liverpool.

Phil Foden started on the bench against PSG but the youngster should be handed a starting berth as Bernardo Silva drops to the bench. Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri are going to be the two other midfielders on the team sheet since Gundogan still remains unavailable.

Jack Grealish looked exhausted against PSG but we don’t think Pep Guardiola will take the risk of dropping him to the bench against Liverpool. It’s Raheem Sterling who’s likely to sit on the bench.

Ferran Torres and Gabriel Jesus will be fighting for the centre-forward’s spot and purely based on recent form, Jesus could get the nod. Riyad Mahrez starts on the right flank.

Man City predicted line up vs Liverpool:
