Man City were held to a 1-1 draw by Aston Villa during the weekend but they will have to quickly reset their focus because they kick off their Champions League campaign this week.

The Premier League giants will head to Spain to take on Sevilla in their first group game of the campaign on Tuesday night. Sevilla have made a disastrous start to their La Liga season so it will be really hard for them to stand up to Manchester City but Pep Guardiola’s team will have to be on their toes cause teams are finding it rather easy to break them down and score goals.

Man City and Sevilla are in group G and this group also has Borussia Dortmund so City will need to open their campaign with a commanding win in order to avoid any late gameweek jitters.

Sevilla’s confidence is currently rock bottom so Man City should be in for an easy away win but surprisingly, the Etihad outfit have won just three out of their previous 13 away games vs Spanish oppositions.

Manchester City team news vs Sevilla:

Aymeric Laporte is still out with a knee injury and since Ruben Dias and John Stones have played so much in recent weeks, it won’t be a surprise if Guardiola uses Nathan Ake and new signing Manuel Akanji in central defence on Tuesday.

Kalvin Phillips is ruled out with a shoulder injury meaning Guardiola won’t be able to rest Rodri. However, Gundogan should be allowed to get a breather because Bernardo Silva is likely to come into midfield.

The Man City manager will have rotation on his mind which means Julián Álvarez is expected to come into the starting line up. Riyad Mahrez came off the bench and he too will be in the running to get a start.

Jack Grealish returned from injury and was on the bench against Aston Villa but we think he will be handed a start in midweek because this is the ideal game for Guardiola to bring him back into action.

Haaland has taken to the Premier League like a fish in water so he’s a definitely starter up front.

Man City predicted line up vs Sevilla:

Predicted Starting Line up(4-3-3): Ederson; Cancelo, Nathan Ake, Akanji, Walker, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Silva, Rodri; Alvarez, Haaland, Grealish/Foden.
