4-3-3 Man City’s predicted line up vs West Ham United: Will Haaland be on the bench?

Man City will face West Ham United in their first match of the new Premier League season and they will be eager to put their Community Shield woes behind them by picking up a comfortable win on Sunday.

City have sold several first-team regulars during the summer but at the same time, the club has made some very good signings as well. This almost perfect side needed just a few minor tweaks and Guardiola has done exactly that.

Man City are undefeated in their last 18 away matches in the Premier League so we expect them to have an easy day at work. More so because David Moyes will have a lot of new players coming in which is why he needs time to find his best XI.

These two sides met at the London Stadium in gameweek 37 of the previous season and in that game, the Hammers were able to hold Man City to a 2-2 draw. While Moyes would love an identical scoreline but we don’t think Man City will falter on Sunday.

Man City team news & injuries:

Aymeric Laporte is the only injured player for Man City as he’s out with a knee injury and he will be unavailable for the West Ham game.

John Stones is fit but the defender is not 100% match-fit so there’s a chance the England international will have to start on the bench this weekend.

If Stones is not ready then Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias will pair up in central defence with Walker and Joao Cancelo playing as the two full-backs.

Fernandinho has left the club but Man City have brought in Kalvin Phillips as the ideal replacement for the Brazilian. Phillips did not feature against Liverpool and we think he will not start against West Ham United as well.

Bernardo Silva has been linked with a move to Barcelona but the midfielder is a guaranteed starter on Sunday.

With Raheem Sterling gone Jack Grealish has made the left winger his own so the England international is also going to start at the London Stadium.

All eyes were on Haaland in that Community Shield tie but the summer signing made a disastrous debut for Man City. He will be eager to quickly get rid of all the jitters and put up a show this weekend.

The good news for Pep Guardiola is that with Haaland in his squad he can finally ditch his false-nine system and use a proper centre-forward.
