4-3-3 Man City’s predicted line up vs Wolves: Will Kalvin Phillips finally get a start?

Man City kept their winning run going in the Champions League as they beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in midweek and next up, they will take on Wolves in the Premier League.

City did not have the best of games against the Bundesliga side but in the end, they got the job done. Now, Guardiola’s focus will be to topple Arsenal from the top of the league table and a win on Saturday will temporarily put them above the Gunners.

Man City have not necessarily been in top form this season but they are yet to lose in the league. Also, they are undefeated in their last 21 away matches in the EPL while Wolves have suffered two draws and one loss in their previous five outings.

The manager named a full-strength side on Wednesday night so he is definitely going to shuffle his pack on Saturday and this will be the time for City’s benchwarmers to shine.

Man City’s team news and injuries:

Aymeric Laporte has returned to full training and he should be fit to be in the matchday squad but Kyle Walker will be touch and go for this one.

The right-back does have an outside chance of making it in time but we don’t think we will see him back in action before the international break.

With Walker likely to be ruled out again, John Stones should start on the right-hand side.

Ruben Dias was rested in midweek so he will be coming back into the side to replace summer signing Manuel Akanji. We don’t expect Laporte to get a start so Nathan Ake will be the other central defender.

Kalvin Phillips has barely gotten any game time since joining Man City but we think the manager will use him against Wolves because Rodri needs a rest.

Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez were really poor against Dortmund so we expect both of them to drop to the bench, making way for Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden.

Haaland found the back of the net once again for Manchester City and he’s fast turning out to be one of the best strikers in European football.

Man City predicted line up vs Wolves:

Predicted Starting Line up(4-3-3): Ederson; Stones, Dias, Nathan Ake, Cancelo; Phillips/Rodri, De Bruyne, Gundogan; Foden, Haaland, B. Silva.
