Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has been tipped to move out in January and as per the latest reports, Man City could be his next destination.

The Frenchman has failed to win the trust of Mikel Arteta and since the Spaniard’s arrival, he has been in and out of the squad. And with his contract ending next summer, the Gunners are planning to cash in on him at the start of the new year.

Lacazette is not expected to sign a new deal at the club meaning he will be able to leave as a free agent next summer. Arsenal though are not ready to lose another player on a free deal which is why they are ready to entertain bids in January.

Up until now, West Ham United were said to be the frontrunners in signing the 30-year-old but all of a sudden, Manchester City seem to have grown a liking for him.

Can Man City beat West Ham United to the signing?

Man City failed to sign a new striker during the summer so they are bound to bring in a new centre-forward during the January transfer window. And someone like Alexandre Lacazette can be the perfect short-term solution before Guardiola brings in a Kane or Haaland.

West Ham United want a partner for Michail Antonio for the second half of the season but if Man City are serious about signing the Arsenal misfit then there’s no way Moyes will be able to bring him on board.

Generally, at a club like City Alexandre Lacazette should be facing a lot of competition but right now, his only major competition at the Etihad will be Ferran Torres. City have been playing with a false nine for most of the season so Laca will be able to slot right into the first XI.

On the other hand, West Ham’s Michail Antonio is in fine form this season so if Alexandre Lacazette moves to the London Stadium then he will have to prove his worth once again.

The pull of playing for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will be too hard to resist and if the Cityzens can put in a good enough bid for the Frenchman then it won’t be difficult for them to beat the Hammers in this transfer race.

Yes, West Ham United have been playing superbly this campaign but not many players can reject an offer from Man City.

Arsenal don’t mind sending him to either Manchester City or West Ham United until they can rope in a decent transfer fee.
