Man City got back to winning ways this weekend, beating Southampton 1-0 in the Premier League and next up, they will shift their focus to the EFL Cup where they take on Arsenal in the quarter-finals.

City have not been in the best of forms in the league but with key players returning back from injuries, Pep Guardiola is finally able to make rotations to his starting XI.

Manchester City are unbeaten in their last eight matches in all competitions and right now they have one of the best defensive records in the English domestic circuit.

Arsenal, on paper, have the firepower to breach that defence but the kind of form they are in right now, Pep Guardiola’s side might be looking at a rather comfortable win on Tuesday.

Man City team news vs Arsenal:

Laporte missed the Southampton game with a slight injury and as per the latest updates, he will not be fit in time to take on Arsenal in the EFL Cup.

John Stones started in central defence alongside Ruben Dias on Saturday but the England international is likely to make way for Nathan Ake.

Rodri is also likely to be rested in midweek as the more experienced Fernandinho comes into the starting XI alongside Gundogan. Kevin De Bruyne will keep his place from the Saints game.

Bernardo Silva will make way for Riyad Mahrez on the right flank but Raheem Sterling should keep his place on the left-hand side of the pitch.

Gabriel Jesus missed Man City’s previous game due to a dental problem and like Laporte, he too is expected to be an absentee in midweek.

Sergio Aguero was an unused sub for Man City vs Southampton but the Argentine should finally get a start against Arsenal in the EFL Cup. If Aguero starts then Ferran Torres will drop to the bench.
