Man City have wrapped up the Premier League as Man United went down 1-2 to Leicester City at home so now Pep Guardiola’s side will only play to get some much-needed practice for the Champions League final.

Next up, Manchester City take on Newcastle United on Friday and given how they have only won one of their last four Premier League matches at St. James’ Park, the newly crowned champions will be eager to set the record straight this time around.

There’s a big chance that Pep Guardiola will look to rest some really important players meaning the fringe players are finally set to get some game time, against Newcastle United and for the remaining few matches.

Man City have won their last 11 away matches in the league and they go into Friday’s game as the favourites. Apart from finishing the season on a high, the next few games will also help Pep Guardiola assess his bench strength before the UCL final vs Chelsea.

Man City team news vs Newcastle United:

Zack Steffen could replace Ederson in goal and with John Stones back from his suspension, the Man City boss should give a much-needed rest to Ruben Dias. Nathan Ake could also replace Aymeric Laporte in central defence.

Benjamin Mendy and Joao Cancelo are likely to start with the latter playing as the right full-back in place of Kyle Walker.

Fernandinho could come back into the side, replacing Rodri in defensive midfield but the manager is likely to hold back Kevin De Bruyne since he was kept out of the Chelsea game due to an injury scare.

If De Bruyne is not included then Bernardo Silva and Gundogan will start in midfield alongside Fernandinho.

Phil Foden is right now the first-choice right winger for Pep Guardiola but since Man City have already wrapped up the league, this will be the perfect opportunity for Raheem Sterling to showcase his talents and fight for a starting role in the Champions League final.

Sergio Aguero practically lost the game for Man City against Chelsea last week but since this is going to be his last few games for the club, the Argentine is hopefully going to be selected ahead of Gabriel Jesus.
