West Ham United travel to the Etihad this week to take on Man City in the Premier League and not many people are ready to back the Hammers in this encounter.

And to be very honest, the way Man City have been playing, there’s not much reason to put your money on Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

Yes, the Citizens looked a bit lacklustre during the Carabao Cup final but in the league, Pep Guardiola’s side have simply been a class apart.

Having said that though, the Hammers might just have an outside chance of picking up atleast a point from this game now that Man City are set to miss some really important players.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he will be without a number of his first-team stars and perhaps the biggest miss will be Fernandinho.

The midfielder is still to recover fully from a muscular injury and the manager has put a question mark over his participation for the next couple of games.

“I’m pretty sure Fernandinho cannot play against Schalke because he is suspended so we will see after the international break,” said Guardiola.

John Stones and Gabriel Jesus are also on the sidelines and they too will miss the West Ham game on Wednesday.

“We were without John and Gabriel and we are still without them,

“I don’t know [how long they will be out]. In the next weeks, they will be out but I think John and Gabriel will be back soon.”

Benjamin Mendy though has trained with the first team for the past couple of days and the manager is confident that he could feature in the first XI for Man City this midweek.
